It had a difficult time when it encountered longer-pile carpets and also some thick, long mess of dried-on debris.

Like most robots that are available, the S1 Pro comes ready to take off from the box and only requires an initial mapping session to figure out how it can navigate your home. After that the map is displayed in the app and rooms can be added or joined depending on the need. You can also design virtual boundaries areas, no-go zones and no-mop areas if you don't want the robot to touch certain items.

The S1 Pro does a great job of removing messes from hard floors due to its rotating mop head that exerts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability both to vacuum and mop is a great choice for homes that have both types of flooring. However, its dependence on Eufy cleaning products (which are included in the box) makes it less versatile than other robots that allow you to add your own cleaning products.
