1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the robot's dustbin after it has filled up.

Both robots do well picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart robot maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other Top Rated Robot Vacuum-rated robots we evaluated the i3+ does not have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and may have issues navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including clearing out any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and Top rated Robot vacuum filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station and automatically emptying its trash into the station's dust bin and continues cleaning the area where it started. The i7+ is faster and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that removes major maintenance sources and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and to move around the room and sweep an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After connecting to these services, we were able use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a world of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that can provide power that is not fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpets to trap large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes to match the task that is being completed. It is able to quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

It's capable of sucking up all debris types and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas many times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and edges of walls.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top picks and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It didn't do very well in avoiding taller items like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested and this could be a problem for some buyers.

The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning area.
