However unlike the i7+ and other top rated robots we test, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may be stuck on things like socks or power cords and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot recommends clearing areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes getting rid of any clutter or toys it might encounter. The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin that removes major maintenance sources and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. After connecting, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for many households, but it also fits nicely on the table for a coffee or shelves that you can spin around like a magic tool.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. That's still enough run time to clean most of a home that's average size, but not quite long enough to get every single area (though a second run-through usually will suffice). However, this model isn't a good choice It's lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums the 694 is an entry-level model that's a good option for those who don't wish to spend too much on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all debris types and sizes during our tests, and it frequently goes over the same areas many times to get a really thorough clean.
